Your interior color code is the surest way to get the right dye for your car or truck. Most manufacturers print it on a sticker or plate somewhere on the vehicle. Here's where to look for each make, with a photo of what the sticker looks like.
If you can't find the code, don't worry. Send me your VIN and I can usually work out the original interior color from it. Order a custom VIN-matched dye instead.

Acura
Acura, like Honda, usually puts the trim code sticker on the driver's side door panel or the driver's side door pillar.

Audi
Audi and VW hide this sticker in the spare tire well in the trunk. Check the underside of the spare tire cover or inside the tire well. VW has also been known to put it on the underside of the rear bench seat.

BMW
BMW encodes the interior trim to the VIN, so there's no separate interior trim code to look for. A description of the leather color always helps. The VIN is at the left front of the dash (visible through the windshield) or on the driver's side door pillar.

Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet & GMC
Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer and Pontiac (all GM makes) put the interior color code on the Service Parts Identification sticker. Most of the time it's in the glove box, but it can also be on the driver's side door pillar or in the spare tire well. The interior color code is in the bottom right of the sticker, and it's also one of the RPO codes near the end of the list ending in the letter "I". Either one helps.
Newer GM vehicles don't have the RPO code sticker in the glove box. Instead, the VIN sticker on the driver's side door jamb has a large QR code, and we can use it to look up your interior color codes. Just send us a clear photo of the sticker.

Hummer
Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer and Pontiac (all GM makes) put the interior color code on the Service Parts Identification sticker. Most of the time it's in the glove box, but it can also be on the driver's side door pillar or in the spare tire well. The interior color code is in the bottom right of the sticker, and it's also one of the RPO codes near the end of the list ending in the letter "I". Either one helps.

Hyundai
Hyundai usually puts the trim code sticker on the driver's side door or the driver's side door pillar.

Infiniti
Infiniti usually puts the trim code sticker on the driver's side door or the driver's side door pillar.

Isuzu
Some Isuzu vehicles have the same RPO code sticker in the glove box as GM and Chevrolet vehicles. All others have the VIN sticker on the driver's side door pillar or under the hood.

Jaguar
Jaguar puts an interior trim sticker on the underside of the hood or on the driver's side door pillar.

Jeep
Jeep puts the interior trim code on the VIN sticker on the driver's side door or door pillar. Look for the code labeled TRM:.

Land Rover
Land Rover's interior trim code is usually encoded to the VIN. A description of the color always helps.

Lexus
Lexus, like Toyota, usually puts the trim code sticker on the driver's side door or the driver's side door pillar.

Mazda
Mazda puts the VIN sticker, with the paint code and interior trim code, in the driver's side door jamb.

Mercedes-Benz
Before you go hunting for option codes: Mercedes ties interior options to the VIN pretty reliably, so the VIN is usually all I need. If you do need the leather option code, it's on a stamped tag under the hood riveted to the radiator support, on a sticker in the driver's side door jamb, or in the spare tire well. Leather options start with a 2.

MINI
MINI follows the same convention as its parent company, BMW: all I need is the VIN to find the interior color. The VIN sticker is in the driver's side door jamb.

Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi puts the interior color code on the VIN sticker in the driver's side door jamb. Some SUVs have it on a metal tag riveted to the firewall instead.

Nissan
Nissan includes the interior color code on the VIN sticker in the driver's side door jamb.

Pontiac
Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer and Pontiac (all GM makes) put the interior color code on the Service Parts Identification sticker. Most of the time it's in the glove box, but it can also be on the driver's side door pillar or in the spare tire well. The interior color code is in the bottom right of the sticker, and it's also one of the RPO codes near the end of the list ending in the letter "I". Either one helps.

Porsche
Porsche is very inconsistent with this option code sticker. Most of the time it's on the first page of the owner's manual. If not, check the spare tire well, then under the hood. If all else fails, call your local Porsche dealer and ask them to decode your VIN. I can often work out the interior from the VIN as well.
Rolls-Royce & Ferrari
Interior color details are in the owner's manual or on the window sticker that came with the car. Your local Rolls-Royce or Ferrari dealer can also decode your VIN. Third-party VIN decoders are very inconsistent with these makes, so it's best to call the dealer's parts or service department.

Subaru
Subaru puts the trim code on the VIN sticker in the door jamb, or on a smaller sticker just below it.

Tesla
You can find your interior color in the Tesla app under Specs and Warranty. It's listed on the Specs tab, for example "All Black Premium Interior".

Toyota
Toyota follows the same convention as Lexus: the interior trim code is part of the VIN sticker in the driver's side door jamb.

Volkswagen
Volkswagen, like Audi, has an option code sticker that's usually in the spare tire well in the trunk.

Volvo
Volvo usually ties the trim code to the VIN, but the interior trim code still helps. The VIN plate is under the hood, usually riveted to the inside left fender above the left wheel well. The interior trim code is a 4-digit code, usually just above the 5-digit "XXX-XX" paint code.
